    Dishonored 2

    Bethesda used its first ever E3 2015 press conference to reveal that Dishonored 2 is set for a 2016 release. There's little information about the game at the moment

    Watch Dogs 2

    Watch Dogs 2 was showcased at Ubisoft's E3 2016 conference, complete with a release date for the upcoming game. With a new protagonist, new settings and, most importantly, new gadgets, Watch Dogs 2 looks to offer a much more exciting experience than its predecessor.

    Pokémon Sun and Moon

    We can't help but get excited about a new Pokémon game, and Pokémon Sun and Moon look particularly good. It's coming to 3DS this November, and with it comes the seventh generation of Pokémon including two new Legendaries and three new starter Pokémon.
    There's also a new Battle Royal mode that lets four trainers battle each other at once.

    Final Fantasy XV

    The ever popular Final Fantasy franchise is set to be added to with a new game for the new generation consoles later this year, available to pre-order now. It's an open-world adventure that is the first of the numbered series to feature action-orientated combat in real time, and it looks amazing.

    Star Citizen

    Star Citizen managed to raise almost $100m from Kickstarter and through other crowdfunding means, which just goes to show how highly anticipated it is. It brings together solo, cooperative, FPS, third-person, open-world gameplay, space exploration and hand-to-hand combat into one shiny package that we can't wait to open.
    The release date is questionable - we're told 2016 but we're rapidly running out of months left in the year and with no solid release date yet revealed it could well mean we've still got a while to wait.

    The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

    Ok, you might have have a wait a while for this but it will be worth the wait, we hope. Although Nintendo has confirmed Zelda for Wii U and has now officially named it The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, we still haven't got a solid release date aside from a very vague 2016 (it was 2015). find out more in our Zelda for Wii U release date, UK price, gameplay features article. We had to wait a long time for Mario Kart 8 and it was worthwhile, so we're sure the same will be true here.
    Zelda for Wii U will be set in a completely open world and Nintendo's short teaser and new E3 2016 is enough to get us excited about the game.

    F1 2016

    Codemasters has announced F1 2016, the official game for the 2016 Formula One World Championship, but we don’t yet know exactly when it'll be coming out.
    It'll include a 10-season career mode and a new street circuit in Baku, Azerbaijan. The graphics look stunning, too.

    Matterfall

    Matterfall is an upcoming game for PS4 that has grabbed our interest. It follows an unexpected hero fighting for survival on a ravished sci-fi world infected by an alien material known as Smart Matter.

    For Honor

    Medieval warfare game For Honor sees players take on the role of a Viking, Samurai or Knight, with each faction offering its own unique abilities. Unusually, players use controller's analogue sticks to control movements and actions in battle, demanding greater accuracy to be successful.
    Halo Wars 2

    The announcement of Halo Wars 2 was completely unexpected at Gamescom 2015 in September. The real-time strategy based war game got a new trailer complete with a release date and open beta details during E3 2016.
    Horizon Zero Dawn

    We're really excited about Horizon Zero Dawn, an upcoming PlayStation exclusive from Guerrila Games. It's set 1,000 years into the future, when robotic creatures have taken over the planet. You'll play as bow-yielding heroine Aloy as she hunts the creatures and uses their machine parts to her advantage.

    South Park The Fractured But Whole

    The multi-part follow up to 2014's South Park: The Stick of Truth turns away from the fantasy theme and has the kids playing superheroes. It's set to arrive later this year, and you'll play as 'The New Kid,' who is trying to become part of the kids' superhero gang.

    Tekken 7

    Set to be the last in the series, 20 years after the original Tekken was ported to the PlayStation, Tekken 7 is said to include the conclusion to the Mishima clan saga.

    Red Dead Redemption 2

    Arguably the most exciting gaming news to come out of 2016 is the announcement that Red Dead Redemption 2 is official, and will be arriving on consoles late next year.

    Prey

    Considering the original Prey announcement was made five years ago, fans of the series have been waiting a while. However, this is not the Prey that was announced all those years ago. Instead, it has been reimagined by an entirely new studio and will now offer a near-future Sci-fi FPS.

    Crackdown 3

    Detroit: Become Human

    Days Gone

    Days Gone is one of the brand-new titles announced by Sony during E3 2016. The open-world survival adventure game looks utterly terrifying, with zombie-like creatures out to eat your brains. Worse yet, they're speedy and there are thousands of them.
    We don't know quite when Days Gone is coming out yet, but presumably it'll be some time in 2017.

    Scalebound

    At Gamescom 2015, developers Platinum Games unveiled Scalebound, the epic of two lonely characters, whose life is bound together until the end.
    Agents of Mayhem

    Saints Row developer Violition Studios has announced that it is working on a new game called Agents of Mayhem. The game's three 'heroes' use their unique skills to take on the bad guys in an open-world landscape filled with plenty of action.

    Death Stranding

    You might notice something familiar about the star of this new game from Hideo Kojima. That's right, The Walking Dead's own Norman Reedus has been recreated in digital form for Death Stranding, which so far has left us scratching our heads.
    It was announced with a cryptic trailer that really doesn't tell us much, but the creators have said that it will be an action game "if you really want to put a genre on it."

    Kingdom Hearts 3

    It's been more than 11 years since Kingdom Hearts II arrived on PS2 in 2005. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next instalment, and there was a time when we were unsure whether there would be one at all.
    The good news is, there definitely is going to be a Kingdom Hearts 3. The bad news is we still don't know when it's coming out.

    Dawn of War III

    The new Dawn of War III trailer has got a lot of hearts racing through its quite remarkably epic cinematic. Set to arrive in 2017, DOW 3 is expected to encorporate both a single-player campaign and a multiplayer aspect, presenting both online and offline challenges for players.

    God of War

    God of War kicked off Sony's E3 2016 conference in June, which is a sure sign that this is going to be a highly-anticipated new game. It's set to bring completely reimagined gameplay mechanics for fans of the series, with a fresh perspective.

    Quake Champions

    Quake, for many, is one of the most iconic games of the 90s, which meant the announcement of a revival at E3 2016 was welcomed by many. Quake Champions is set to launch over 20 years after the first Quake game hit the market back in 1996, and will offer impressive gameplay if nothing else.

    Crash Bandicoot

    Yes, you read that correctly. Crash Bandicoot is getting a reboot and we cannot wait. Announced at E3 2016 during Sony's press conference, Activision is re-launching Crash Bandicoot, Crash 2 and Warped in HD for PS4. There's no word about when they're actually coming out, but Crash Bandicoot is coming to our consoles sooner thanks to Skylanders Imaginators.

    Ever Oasis

    Ever Oasis is the latest RPG game from Nintendo, coming to the 3DS next year. Players are put in the shoes of a young boy called Tethu, whose main aim is to create a village in the middle of a desert to act as a base for his quest to find his older brother.
