    first of all,

A web server is a monitor for incoming connection like web page request. basically(HTTP) web page request.

It is a piece of software running on a computer that is monitoring for incoming connection(something coming from another computer with a particular port).
When a computer is asking for a web page to delivered is asking for a web server, so web server takes a look at what page is being requested and sees if it can be delivered and if it can it just deliver it.

There are several kinds of popular web server out there, but what we are going to take a look at is the apache web server. First i'm going to show you how to get the apache web server.

After the installation, open ur internet browser (internet explorer recommended) and type "http://localhost" without the quote. If your apache is well installed, you should see a page like the one in the picture of the attachment to this post.

next is for you to goto "C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\conf"
and look for a file named "httpd.conf"
    and open it with notpad
Now, scroll down till you find DocumentRoot "C/Program File/Apache Group/apache/htdocs"
    and <Directory "C/Program File/Apache Group/apache/htdocs"
